About Our Programs
When selecting a training school, it is important to know that the instructors not only have the necessary experience at operating Class A and B equipment, but that they also possess the ability to be skilled teachers as well. Learning to drive a 10-speed unsynchronized transmission or back a 53’ trailer is a challenge, and the staff must be able to teach each student in a manner that is understandable and applicable for that individual. It is not possible to have a “cookie cutter” style of training program that does not allow for the instructor to modify the training program (as needed) to suit the individual’s needs. We believe our 2 students per 1 instructor teaching ratio allows time for students to firmly grasp concepts and skills, and not just be talked at. We believe in learning by doing so it is our goal to get students as much in the truck time as possible, after all, it’s simply not possible to just read a book and then expect to climb into a truck and be able to drive it. It takes skill and practice to be a qualified and safe driver on today’s highways.
Students enrolled in our Class A training program drive our well-maintained fleet of Freightliner, Peterbilt, and Kenworth trucks, which are comparable to what is utilized in the trucking industry. Throughout the course, students will have the opportunity to pull several different lengths of trailers ranging from 27 feet to 53 feet loaded. Students will also be exposed to a wide variety of driving conditions to better prepare them for the diversification in the trucking industry.
There is, without question, no adequate substitute for the structured curriculum and training methods which are routinely provided by a successful truck driver training school. Check Ride Driver Training Services offers a very well-respected training program which is enthusiastically endorsed by several public agencies, our former students, and many high profile trucking companies.
